The concept for this house is rooted in it's connection to the specific topography of the site. To avoid major earth moving the site was carefully analyzed in hopes of finding existing ledges and pads to locate a structure.  At a certain height above the access road below, a site was identified which could accommodate the majority of the homes spaces on one level. From this point the balance of the house grew vertically both above and below the main section minimizing its footprint and integrating its form into the landscape.
