Status: Concept

The proposed design for Town Park “H20”, a water purification facility, located in Pico Rivera along the edge of the San Gabriel River, seeks to balance and harmonize the requirements of the GRIP AWTF program with other landscape and building elements to provide a useful amenity to the Pico Rivera community. The design seeks to create a secure facility that is “open”, inclusive and educational with buildings that are appropriate to their use and compelling as architectural elements within a larger landscape. The goal is to create a “destination” that helps fulfill the critical function of water sustainability and independence, provides a greater understanding of water as a precious, limited, life giving resource while providing a high quality neighborhood amenity with flexible open space that links the community to its river.
