Located on a substandard down slope site in the Ocean Park neighborhood of Santa Monica, this single family home develops indoor-outdoor connections that are both immediate and distant. At the ground level the home generously opens to the side and rear yards while the roof deck, accessed from an exterior spiral stair connecting all levels, provides views to the Pacific Ocean in the distance.

Expansive, operable windows and doors allow occupants to control ventilation, daylight and view. Operable windows above the stair help create a stack effect, drawing cool ocean breezes up and through the house.
